The mission of the Thinkery is to provide innovative learning experiences for children and families that equip and inspire the next generation of creative problem solvers. The organization achieves its mission by offering visitors interactive exhibits and hands-on experiences through a multi-disciplinary approach that emphasizes science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) subjects. The Thinkery is an evolution of Austin Children’s Museum and was designed to better meet the demand of the greater Austin region and its families. In December 2013 the Thinkery opened at the Meredith Learning Lab, a 40,000 square foot facility that is double the size of the museum’s previous downtown location, improves amenities for visitors, and provides 25,000 square feet for exhibits and programs. The museum’s exhibits and experiences emphasize skills in STEAM subjects that are critical to the success of today’s children. The Thinkery’s educational platform offers ten new galleries, outreach programs and a robust schedule of programs and activities to engage children, educators and lifelong learners. Gallery experiences range from developmentally appropriate sensory experiences for children under age three to staff-facilitated design challenges for children up to age eleven that may involve tools such as screen printers, 3D printers, soldering irons, circuits or woodworking materials. Thinkery staff utilize galleries to host changing programs and activities on a regular basis to ensure that each visit provides new learning opportunities for children and families. The Thinkery’s unique approach to learning and children’s education is the result of years of planning and community input, and includes: * A multidisciplinary approach to science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) through exhibits, programs and experiences; * Serving a target audience of children from birth through age 11; * Supporting the learning relationship between children and adults; and * Offering innovative outreach models that increase relationships with historically underserved and underrepresented children and families, especially those from low-income schools and neighborhoods. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「The Thinkery」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
